Tribune Media Net Names Lee Jones SVP/Sales and Marketing

CHICAGO, August 23, 2006 -- Tribune Media Net (TMN), the national advertising sales organization for Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB) and its major-market newspapers, today announced that Lee Jones has been appointed senior vice president/sales and marketing, effective September 1. He succeeds Dana Hayes, who today was named senior vice president/sales for Tribune Interactive.

"Since joining TMN last year, Lee has done a terrific job managing our largest sales region," said Ken DePaola, Tribune Media Net president and senior vice president/advertising for Chicago Tribune Company. "His leadership qualities and sales experience, combined with great team-building skills and strong relationships with national advertisers, make him the ideal choice to guide TMN’s overall sales and marketing activities."

Jones began with Tribune Media Net in August 2005 as vice president/Eastern Region Sales, leading TMN’s New York sales office and managing teams focused on national advertisers. Prior to TMN, he served four years as vice president/publisher of G+J USA’s Inc. and Fast Company magazines. Before that he was vice president/publisher at Ziff Davis Publishing and held senior management roles with Entrepreneur Media, Newsweek and Hearst Business Communications.

"I’m looking forward to my expanded role with TMN and Tribune Publishing," said Jones. "We’ve put together an excellent sales team that includes talent from outside the newspaper industry. Our emphasis continues to be on delivering creative and cost-effective solutions for national marketers."

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California, majoring in business.
