Tribune Media Net Names Gregg Rubin
Sales Manager/New York
CHICAGO, July 21, 2003
-- Tribune Media Net, the national advertising
sales organization for Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB), today announced
that Gregg Rubin has been promoted to sales manager/New York.
He will lead the national sales efforts and manage the national
sales team for Newsday, one of the nation’s largest daily
newspapers which serves Long Island and New York City. Newsday’s
products include several print editions; Web sites at Newsday.com
and NYNewsday.com; and TV and radio news and feature segments
produced in its newsrooms for local broadcasters.

advertising and Internet sales have made him a valuable asset
to Tribune Media Net," said Lou Hudson, Tribune Media
Net director/Eastern Region Sales. "Since joining us
in 2001, he has further strengthened his relationships with
New York advertisers and agencies. We look forward to his
continued support in finding the right marketing solutions
for our national clients in Newsday’s many media products."
Rubin will manage sales activities of the Newsday
national sales team. He also will be responsible for training,
developing and coaching sales executives and sales support
staff.

Rubin has been a national sales executive for Tribune Media
Net in New York since 2001. Prior to joining Tribune, Rubin
was vice president of sales at Vault, Inc. where he was responsible
for restructuring its Internet sales organization and leading
it to profitability. From 1998 to 2000, Rubin was the regional
advertising director for the Chicago Sun-Times and managed
day-to-day sales activities of the Dallas, New York, Miami
and Los Angeles offices. Prior to that, from 1997 to 1998,
he was an advertising manager for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
From 1992 to 1997, he held two sales positions at the Philadelphia
Weekly, first as an account executive and later as advertising
director. From 1990 to 1992, he was associate publisher/advertising
manager for Sports Focus Magazine. Early in his career, he
worked as a financial analyst at Paramount Pictures Corporation
in Los Angeles.
Rubin earned a bachelor’s degree from
Temple University with a major in political science.
