Tribune Company Names Kieran Clarke
VP/General Manager of KWBP-TV, Portland
CHICAGO, April 3, 2003 --
Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB) today named veteran broadcast executive
Kieran Clarke as vice president/general manager of KWBP-TV
(WB32) in Portland, Ore. Clarke is currently director of sales
at KTXL-TV (FOX40), Tribune’s television station in
Sacramento, Calif. He will assume his new duties effective
immediately.
"It’s a pleasure to announce Kieran’s appointment
as the new General Manager at KWBP-TV," said Patrick
Mullen, Tribune Television president. "He is a talented
manager who knows Tribune well-his leadership skills and track
record of success make him the ideal candidate to serve as
general manager at KWBP-TV."
Tribune completed its acquisition of KWBP-TV late last month.
Portland is the nation’s 23rd largest television market.

by KWBP-TV," said Clarke. "Portland is a terrific
market and KWBP-TV is the fastest growing station in the market.
The success of the WB Network combined with the programming
strength of Tribune Broadcasting will provide a great foundation
for continued growth."
Clarke has served as director of sales at KTXL-TV since December
1999. He was responsible for the station’s national
and local sales efforts. Prior to that he was local sales
manager at KTLA-TV, the Tribune television station in Los
Angeles beginning in March 1998. He served as national sales
manager at KTLA-TV from 1993 to 1998.
A native of New York, Clarke holds a
bachelor’s degree in business management from Curry
College in Milton Massachusetts.
