CHICAGO, January 27, 2003 --
Tribune Broadcasting, a division

today announced that Washington D.C. bureau chief Cissy Baker
has been appointed vice president/news operations and that
marketing executive Rick Felty has been named vice president/creative
services. Both appointments are effective immediately.
" Cissy and Rick are both talented, top-notch executives
with years of experience," said Patrick Mullen, Tribune
Broadcasting president. "Cissy helped launch our state-of-the-art
Media Center in Washington and has been at the forefront of
our efforts to maximize the cooperation among our newspaper

In her new role, Baker will oversee the news
operations of all Tribune television stations and coordinate
news coverage of national events. She will also continue facilitating
content sharing between Tribune’s newspaper and television
operations. Baker joined Tribune Broadcasting as Washington
bureau chief in 1994.
"Our news operations -- at both our newspapers
and our television stations -- are staffed by the best journalists
in the business," said Baker. "I’m excited
to be expanding my role and I look forward to continuing Tribune
Broadcasting’s long history of serving its viewers with
the highest quality journalism possible."
Felty will coordinate marketing and promotion
across the company’s broadcast operations as well as
shared promotional opportunities in Tribune’s cross-media
markets. He will also oversee Tribune Creative Services Group,
which produces on-air promotion for syndicated programming
broadcast on all Tribune’s 24 television stations.
"We have talented creative teams dedicated
to promoting our great entertainment and news programming
at Tribune’s 24 stations," said Felty. "I’m
looking forward to helping them grow their local and network
brands."
Felty was named director/creative services
for Tribune Broadcasting in July 2000. Previously, he was
director/creative services for WGN-TV, Chicago, from 1997
to 2000. He was manager of creative services at WGN from 1992
to 1997, and helped launch Tribune Broadcasting’s first
Web site, for WGN-TV, in 1995. Also at WGN, he received numerous
promotion awards including a national Emmy Award for writing
and producing an AIDS awareness PSA featuring Michael Jordan.
