Tribune Interactive Names Brigid Kenney
VP of Operations
Chief
Financial Officer assumes expanded role
Current
vice president, Barbara Weeks, moves to cross-media role
CHICAGO, July 11, 2002 -- Tribune
Interactive, a leader in interactive news and information
Web sites and a subsidiary of Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB),
today announced that Brigid Kenney has been named vice president
/operations. Kenney will oversee online operations in Tribune's
newspaper markets, as well as advertising operations, and
continue in her current role as Tribune Interactive's chief
financial officer. Barbara Weeks, Tribune Interactive's current
vice president/operations, will join Tribune's intergroup
development department.

from Barbara's leadership over the past two years and we look
forward to working closely with her in her new role as well,"
said David Hiller, Tribune Interactive president. "Brigid
is a talented executive whose leadership and financial expertise
will continue to be an asset in managing and growing our online
businesses."
Kenney joined Tribune Interactive as chief
financial officer upon its formation in 1999. Prior to that,
she was director/treasury operations for Tribune Company from
1997 to 1999, where she was responsible for the company's
cash management activities including short-term investments
and debt issuance. She also managed the share repurchase program
and served as secretary of the Employee Benefits Committee.
In May 1999, she was named assistant treasurer. Kenney joined
Tribune in 1993 as manager of accounting and external reporting
and was promoted to director/accounting and financial reporting
in 1994. Prior to Tribune, she was an audit manager with Arthur
Andersen & Co., from 1986 to 1992.

serve their more than 9 million unique visitors each month."
Kenney replaces Barbara Weeks who will join
Tribune's intergroup development department where she will
oversee multi media efforts across Tribune markets, including
cross-media marketing initiatives and content sharing among
Tribune's print, television and interactive operations.
Weeks joined the company in 1993, and from
1997 to 2000 directed operations at CLTV, the Chicago region's
only 24-hour cable news channel, first as vice president/general
manager and later as president and chief executive officer.

news and information Web sites in major markets across the
United States, including 18 of the top 30 markets. The sites
attract more than 9 million unique visitors per month, and
rank among the top 20 interactive news/information networks
in the country.
